Elliott was the second-oldest of two children who was born in New York City. Paula Niedert is a talent coordinator and Chris Elliott is her mother. Her grandfather was Bob Elliott, a radio comedian. Her brother, who is younger than her, is actress Bridey Elliot. They were raised in Wilton. She attended Immaculate High School Danbury, Connecticut where she was a part of musicals and school plays.
